RC-Aizawl was established by National Institute of Locomotor Disabilities (Divyangjan) M.S.J.&E. Govt. of India in the year of 2004 in a temporaryaccommodation (Free of cost) provided in the premises of State Council of Education Research and Training, Chaltlang, Aizawl with the following objective: -
 

• Providing rehabilitation services for the Persons with Disabilities& Others

• Human Resource development (Training and man power development)

• Manufacture, promote & distribution of aids& Appliances/consultancy

 
Facilities available: Well equipped department of P&O, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Mental Retardation and Speech Therapy & Audiology. This centre provides comprehensive rehabilitation services through team approach, consisting of experts from medical, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy & audiology, professionals in the area of MR, Prosthetics &Orthotics and special education to PwDs in the state of Mozoram.

RC-AIZAWL provides:

1. Assessment, medical guidance and referral for surgery etc.
2. Assistive device/aids & appliances like Wheel Chair, CP chair, Crutches, Prosthesis & orthosis, Hearing aids (BTE) etc under ADIP Scheme.
3. Physiotherapeutic services like exercise therapy, Electrotherapy (Short Wave Diathermy, Ultra Sound, TENS, Muscle Stimulator, Wax bath etc)
4. Occupational therapy like developmental therapy, ADL, Hand activities, play therapy, splints, adaptive devices etc.
5. Hearing screening, audiogram, speech therapy etc.
6. Counselling&Behaviour modification, early intervention services etc.
7. Outreach services through camps
